Yes, Barcelona does suffer from a infestation of a breed of mouth breathing parasites who prey on careless tourists, but be assured that your friend is in all probably not in Barcelona and certainly does not need you to send money to the rather odd location that they say is really the only possible way that you can come to their aid.
